Geeze where have I been? bits and bits

So sorry for lack of posts if you are even still reading this out there. :)
Here is a bit of this and that ramblings about whatever comes to mind has I stare at the computer screen
Top Chef- I have been following Top Chef since the start and generally find it engaging and good for what is essential a cooking reality show. The last few seasons and more so especially this season they are getting me to be less interested in the show cause they are doing something that I would consider something that the show didn't do before. That is they are catering to the bickering reality show stereotype. Top Chef was one of the few programs that didn't feature constant arguments and bad guy characters sure there was Marcel but he was more of a weasel then a bad guy. Has of the current season though they now have a guy who was labeled the bad guy chef right from the start and it's aggravating and dumb. I watch Top Chef to see cool dishes ,how chefs work ,and occasionally cute female chefs (cause I am shallow and human,this season its Danyell by the way )

FF- so FF number one came out this past week I am still broke but I need to read this

Spiderman- Unlike other people I am not up and arms about the ending of Amazing Spiderman at issue 700 cause guess what Marvel did it already about 10 yrs ago when JMS run began or before that with Byrne's run. The spoilers I heard about sound pretty intriguing and I don't fear change in comics like certain "comic fans". Dan Slott is a good writer who get's crap for something he has nothing to do with though he did hold up the Sundays Comic panel from starting one year at Wizard World Philly but I won't hold it against him.

Arrow-I will do more later on this show but if you haven't tried it out yet watch this. Not for people who cry foul at changes to a comic charater just for the sake of complaining really good action and story and likable characters. I just hope we see Black Canary down the line

Yes I have mentioned the awesomeness that is Chikara before and now on June 2 is their next IPPV. What is IPPV you say to your laptop or iphone has people stare at you while o the bus. IPPV our internet pay per views you pay to watch them online and then can watch them whenever but preferably live. Even if you only kind of like wrestling give it a shot and tell your friends about it.

ECW,90s Comic.and theeee Dragonnn and Me!

This Saturday(right now has I type this matter of factually) brings the end of the ECW Arena in South Philly has a venue for wrestling....Wait come back disinterested non-wrestling fans! Now there is and will be many blogs and whatnot mentioning how crappy it is that the Arena is closing to wrestling or eulogizing ECW for the billionth time.Sure ECW may have started in the building but ECW is gone has been since 2001.

Has an aside to someone who may be reading this blog has a comic fan but not a wrestling one.ECW was like Image Comics in reverse. Instead of people leaving to form their own company.They left ECW to bring their talents and influence to the "big" leagues.

I am over ECW.I still like things about it but on the whole I don't enjoy it like I once did.Again and again I read about wrestling fans wanting to return to what is known has the Attitude Era of the WWE. This was the period from 97-2001 where among other things the more rampant violence and language of ECW spread to WWE/WCW much like Image influence permeated the comics industry.

Wrestling and the Comics Industries need to move forward take influence from all eras not just try to mimic one period be it's own thing. Comics is showing that in some cases such has Demon Knights or OMAC and wrestling is certainly showing that with Chikara but I just wish less people had the attitude that we need to rehash the past ad hoc and not try to evolve

Okay to anyone that knows me or follows me on twitter(@soggyhydrox)know that I love wrestling.Please spare me the you know it isn't real crap or that MMA is so much cooler or even WWE/TNA is better. Wrestling fans are a lot like comics fans which is a future post right there.No today I want to talk about my favorite current wrestling company Chikara.

Now I could give you a mini history of Chikara but it might be easier just to go to chikarapro.com or chikara101.com for that. You might ask okay then why should I like this Fed? Well I assume if you continued to read this you are a comic fan and a wrestling fan. Chikara has a continuity like a comic with the personalities to go with it. Great action and storytelling that keeps you involved.Plus the wrestlers both native and guest are fan freakin tastic. The main key to Chikara's success I think is availability of the talent to the fans
Okay I just wanted to do a quick post but to read more of Chikara and wrestling in general can't do any better then the Wrestling Blog
